Choosing a scooter

Three sizes, really. A 50 is for short hops and quiet streets. A 150 is the one most people should buy - it keeps up with city traffic, parks anywhere, and costs almost nothing to run. A 300 will hold freeway speed, which in San Antonio decides whether a scooter is an errand machine or genuine transport. Tell us your actual commute and we will tell you which one you need, including the times the answer is the cheaper one.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a motorcycle license for a scooter in Texas?

It depends on the machine. Texas requires a Class M endorsement to ride a motorcycle, and the requirements for smaller scooters and mopeds are different and have changed over the years. Tell us which model you are considering and we will walk you through what you need, or check directly with Texas DPS, since the rules are theirs rather than ours.
